Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in 1943. They started out as a small machine shop initially hiring four people. Product sales for their first year of operation amounted to about $60,000. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless steel pipe fittings, valves and different parts. Through five years of operation, the company had stretched to 40 workers and their annual sales volume had risen to three hundred thirty thousand dollars. Now, Cascade is amongst the leading worldwide makers in the material handling industry.
Design and manufacturing of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder allowed this young company to aggressively pursue better business opportunities. Throughout the final sixty years, the trade of material handling has developed into a very advanced field with Cascade proudly playing a part in its development. Cascade at present continues to develop as the best provider of forklift attachments and various related products. During the 1950's, Cascade began to manufacture, design, and promote its hydraulic accessories. A brand new facility was constructed in the year 1956, in order to house all the plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which continues to be the company's present center of operations. Following fifteen years of business, total workers reached a hundred and eighty workers and sales had reached practically $2,300,000.
The next production plant was built in 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's initial move into the international world of the material handling industry while the company recognized interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
In 1964, the company altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. Afterward in 1965, the company went public with a preliminary offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Since then the company has expanded its manufacturing amenities within the continental US to the locations Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already present plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade merchandise are fabricated internationally because of lots of subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European head office. This facility is built to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in the year 1996 and the year 1997 subsequent to buying five companies, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the global leader in forks.
